Realtime: location, then the next move
Location and plan stay current
GPS tracks where you are in realtime. Drive cards and the day plan are written by the model from this street, this clock, Open-Meteo weather, TomTom traffic, Census density, household income, Ticketmaster events, cities in your radius, and today's paid vs empty miles. FBI UCR crime rates land on the day plan. If you drive across town, label a trip, or rain starts, the next cards follow you.
Drive is the live loop: four steps on screen, rewritten as your location changes. Plan is the same loop for the rest of the day, a grid from where you are right now, rebuilt when the situation changes. That is how a human driver stays ahead of a robotaxi running a canned route.
How the AI uses FBI data, density, events, and the rest
GPS, clock, Settings notes, radius, and go-home time hit the server with the street feeds. A cost model prices every real pin on empty miles, fuel, time, leftover-shift net vs sitting, live traffic, tract density, and real event start times. That shortlist is ranked advice. The model still writes every dest, wait, and wrap. If a feed is missing, the prompt says so instead of inventing a fake surge multiplier. Uber and Lyft never publish a live surge number to third parties, so SURGEDRIVER never fakes a 2.4x.
FBI crime stats
FBI Crime Data Explorer UCR rates, violent and property per 100k for the state and city the Census geocoder names. Used on the full-shift day plan so waits land in well-lit, busy public lots, not a high-crime dead pocket sold as surge. Drive skips the yearly crime pull so live cards stay fast. If the feed is missing, the model says so. It never invents a crime number.
City and tract density
US Census ACS tract population and people per square mile. Drive uses the tract at your GPS. The day plan also samples density at the top dests. Dense grids favor wait-plus-short-trip. Sparse tracts need a reason to sit.
Household income
ACS median household income and home value for the tract. Affluent edges often mean airport, hotel, and dinner trips. The model uses that with density, not as a stereotype of a whole city.
Live events in cities
Ticketmaster concerts and sports inside your Settings radius, with venue, city, and real start times. Waits aim before doors and after let-out. Far venues never reach the prompt. Drive looks up events near you. The day plan can cover a wider disk with extra venue rings.
Cities inside your radius
A GeoNames worldwide city catalog filtered by live GPS and the miles you set in Settings (up to 500). SURGEDRIVER does not lock you to the nearest downtown. Later blocks can use farther cities when leftover shift time still pays after the empty drive.
Live traffic flow
TomTom speed vs free-flow on the street you are on. A jammed road makes a long empty expensive, so the model would rather wait or take a shorter hop. The day plan also samples traffic at dest areas. Drive does not pay for those extra samples.
Open-Meteo weather
Rain, cloud, and temperature at your GPS. Wet streets change wait vs empty-drive math. When rain flips on, Drive can rewrite the four cards.
Street wait lots
Real public pins from nearby search: cafes, fuel, grocery, hotels, malls, restaurants. Home businesses and private event houses are dropped so Maps does not drop you on a driveway.
Why chasing in-app surge is a bad strategy
Uber and Lyft paint a surge area on the map. Driving empty toward it is how drivers lose the hour. By the time you arrive, that color has often faded. The first trip you get can take you away from the blob. Turning down every other ride to protect a chase can ding your ranking. SURGEDRIVER does not send you after a color. It runs a model-driven read of where you are, then tells you to wait, drive, or take the next trip.

Paid vs empty miles
When the car moves, you label the miles. Empty is treated as a tax. That log feeds the next cards and stays in History after End shift.

One table from where you are now until go-home time, or eight hours. Each block has area, strategy, demand, traffic, dollars per hour, expected earnings, empty miles, and Maps.
Hop economics
Farther cities are priced against leftover hours: drive time, time on scene, empty cost, and whether the hop still pays vs staying. If it does not pay, it stays off the grid.

Reliability
Backup plan, never blank cards
If the model times out, the same cost model fills Drive and Plan from real pins, labelled as a backup. You are not staring at empty cards in the car.
GPS that keeps streaming
Wake lock, keepalive, and a service worker so the fix can continue when the tab is backgrounded. Rebuild Plan when you move, rain starts, or wrap time changes.

The four-step plan updates as you move, weather or traffic changes, or you label paid vs empty. If rain starts or you change wrap time, rebuild. At the end, History is the day you actually drove, not a screenshot of someone else's surge map.
